The solar power set "PV Power III" offers a stand-alone 230V AC power supply at fair costs and top quality. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, in particular for remote summer houses and weekend homes. You may connect AC consumers up to 500W continuous load and 1200W short-term peak load. The excellent overload capability as well as the true sine wave of the inverter guarantee a safe and trouble-free operation of all consumers such as lighting, TV, video/DVD, radio, water pump, electric tools, fan, cooling box, alarm systems etc.
Features at a glance!
- composition of high quality branded components
- easy installation and operation / plug'n'play performance
- 230V AC true sine 500W power output (1200W peak power)
- 1x 175 watt peak polycrystalline solar module
- 2x 100 amp-hours maintenance-free and cycle-proof AGM battery (gel optional)
- entirely pre-fabricated cabling for solar module and battery
The set consists of 1x inverter Studer AJ600S with 24V system voltage and built-in solar charge regulator, 1x 175 watt peak polycrystalline solar module Schott Poly 175 incl. pitched roof mounting system, 2x 100 amp-hour maintenance-free solar battery Banner SBV 12-100 as well as the entire pre-fabricated cabling for the solar modules and batteries.
Due to the inverter's built-in solar charge regulator of 15A (short circuit current) charging current at 24V, the system may at all times be upgraded by an additional solar module. A total of 2 solar modules type Schott Poly 175 (175Wp) with an overall ouput of 350Wp may be installed. Likewise, the storage capacity may even be upgraded by additional batteries of the same make.
Functional Principle
The solar set "PV Power III" consists of three main components: inverter/solar charger, solar modules and batteries.
The charge regulator takes care that the energy produced by the solar modules is stored in the batteries. It protects the battery bank against harmful overload and, in combination with an intelligent charging algorithm, it guarantees a long lifetime of the batteries.
The inverter transforms the solar energy stored in the battery bank into 230V AC power. It also prevents the batteries from beeing deep discharged by disconnecting consumer loads in case of a low battery level.
As the solar energy is buffered in the battery, power is available at all times, even at night or during cloudy weather.
Each single component of the power set matches up the other ones perfectly. The integration of inverter and charge regulator, the tailored solar mounting system as well as the pre-fabricated cabling with plug socket reduce installation work to a minimum.
A subsequent upgrading of the set is possible at any time without having to replace any of the existing components!
Energy Available
The actual energy made available by the "PV Power Set III" depends on the geographic location of the installation site. In Central Europe, a constant solar power supply throughout the year is not possible, because of the poor insolation during winter months. Therefore it is recommended to reduce the consumption during these months. In Southern Europe, the seasonal variations are less distinct and, depending on the site of installation, the energy requirement may be covered entirely by solar power.
Below, please find some examples of the daily energy that may be available:
Average daily available energy (Central Europe)
515Wh (ø 4.5kWh/m²/day)
230Wh (ø 2kWh/m²/day)
95Wh (ø 0.8kWh/m²/day)
Average daily available energy (Southern Europe)
685Wh (ø 6kWh/m²/day)
460Wh (ø 4kWh/m²/day)
285Wh (ø 2.5kWh/m²/day)

In case the energy production exceeds the consumption (e.g. weekend application), excess solar power will be stored in the battery. Once the battery is fully charged the following amount of energy is available:

In any case, before buying this system, check carefully if your requirements are met, in particular if the power set matches the projected consumer profile. Please, also refer to our FAQs for further information or contact us directly.

Optional Accessories / Upgrades
The following accessories and upgrades are available for this power set. Be sure to choose each desired option when ordering!
Banner Gel batteries (SBG) instead of AGM (SBV)
Gel batteries have a slightly higher cycle lifetime than AGM batteries and are therefore more suitable for applications which exceed standard weekend operation.
